What's Your Purpose As A Leader?
If that purpose is not tied to the "Leadership Imperative," you are diminishing your job and career opportunities.
By Brent Filson - 9/2009
One purpose should be to get results, of course. After all, if you don't get results, you won't be a leader for long.
But there are results, and there are results. If you are just seeking to achieve the results your organization needs, you may be giving short shrift to your job and career.
For results entail not only what you achieve but how you achieve it, how you deal with your challenges and the people you interact with in meeting those challenges.
Consider what might happen if your purpose is daily manifested by what I call "The Leadership Imperative."
I will lead in such a way that we together will not only achieve the required organizational results but also grow professionally and in the best qualities of being human.
